WHAT IS HORSE WHISPERING?
Horse Whispering is communicating with horses in such a way as to instill a sense of safety, peace and confidence in the horse.
CAN ANYBODY DO THIS EVEN IF THEY ARE AFRAID OF HORSES?
Yes! With proper guidance anyone can learn about the nature of horses, their language and the communication skills required to have successful relations with them, including overcoming fear (both yours and the horse's).
DOES THE PROCESS TAKE LONG?
Our full and half day programs give you the opportunity to understand the basics of this type of equine communication and the chance to play with a horse, one on one and practice the principles described and demonstrated.
I DON'T EVEN LIKE HORSES, WHY WOULD I WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS?
The cognitive and communication skills, patience, timing, intuition and awareness that we practice while playing with the horses is carried home with us, stays with us and, coupled with a desire to improve ourselves, becomes a more conscious part of our daily lives. This is life enhancement at its finest.

What is required is the desire to expand your personal world, to grow and to have great fun doing it.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HORSE WHISPERING FOR ME?
The benefits of being with horses begin immediately upon entering in the vicinity of the animal. Clinical studies have shown over and over that just being around horses significantly reduces stress levels in humans. When we bring our attention to the horse, we are brought wholly into the present moment. This is where the horse lives, and we must greet them here to have successful interaction. This is also a way of experiencing mindfulness, the practice of awareness in everyday life. During this type of play with horses we learn the nature of trust and safety and the role they play in relationship. We practice using intuition (one of the greatest, yet most misunderstood gifts we humans have). We become better leaders by learning to lead the horse with quiet strength and willing partnership rather than fear of punishment. An extra bonus is that this type of play with horses is some of the greatest fun you'll ever have, anywhere, anytime!

PRIVATE & CUSTOM PROGRAMS:
Special, private programs are available for individuals, small and large groups. Some of these program options are: Leading With Quiet Strength, a dynamic leadership/team-building program ideal for corporate and professional clients. The Natural Equestrian includes lessons in balanced, centered horseback riding, as well as on-the-ground Equine communication skills. Horse Sense For Humans was created for families with teenage children and is intended to support the family unit. Enhance Your Romance is a romantic horseback ride combined with relationship support for couples (for this very unique program Franklin is joined by his wife Adrianna).
PLACE:
Our facility is a beautiful, private horse ranch located on the cliffs of Maui's pristine North Shore. Rolling green meadows, the magnificent slopes of Haleakala and the beautiful Pacific Ocean surround you at this new, tropical equestrian facility.
TIME:
Rendezvous with a Maui Horse Whisperer representative promptly at 9:00AM for the full-day program, or noon (12:00PM) for the half-day program at the location designated on the brochure map. Please allow at least a one hour drive from Wailea, Makena or Lahaina. From Ka'anapali, Napili and Kapalua plan on ninety minutes to arrive at the meeting place on time. This program will conclude at 5:00PM.
ATTIRE & WHAT TO BRING:
Guests should wear long pants, closed toe shoes and a lightweight shirt (T-shirts would do fine). A long sleeve cover-up can be kept handy if need be. Please remember to bring sunscreen and a secure hat. Trade winds of 15 knots plus are common on our side of the island (windward).
FOOD:
Morning refreshments include: great Hawaiian coffee, teas, juices, fresh fruits and baked goods. During full-day programs a hearty, delicious lunch is served at 12:30PM. Beverages and lots of snacks are always available. Special menus are easily obtained with prior arrangements.
NO RIDING REQUIRED:
Horseback riding is available as an option, but is not part of the basic Maui Horse Whisperer Experience. Seniors and others who are not interested in riding have a unique, special opportunity to come and learn about horses through lecture, demonstration and direct, hands-on interaction with them. Participants spend the day immersed in the natural, uncluttered world of the horse and our beautiful, tropical ranch environment. Come and enjoy a fun, informative and inspirational program that is not strenuous, yet is exciting and exhilarating.
REQUIREMENTS FOR RIDERS (RIDING OPTIONAL): Maximum number of riders: six (6). Maximum allowed rider weight: 215lb.
Minimum age: 12 years.
Minimum height: 5 feet tall.
Waiver release form signed by all participants and parents/guardians of children under 18.
CHILDREN:
Youngsters 10 years of age and older are welcome to join in these non-riding programs. See "Requirements for Riders" (above) for optional trail ride.

* Optional Ride is consistent and in conjunction with information provided during Horse Whisperer program and includes coaching in centered/balanced riding and appropriate equestrian skills.
